| Fuel cell powered electric aircraft | What is claimed is:
1. An aircraft comprising
an electric motor adapted to propel the aircraft;
a fuel cell adapted to provide electrical energy to the electric motor;
an input ram air duct adapted to provide pressurized air containing oxygen to the fuel cell; and
an electric fan and a fan power source wherein the fan is adapted to force air through a portion of the input ram air duct, the fan power source provides electrical power to the fan, and the fan power source is at least one of one of a fuel-cell, a battery, a capacitor, and an electric generator.

| BATTERY-POWERED PLANE | A test flight by a team of students from Tokyo Institute of Technology. The group successfully completed a test flight in which the plane stayed airborne for 59 seconds and traveled 391 meters, exceeding by more than 100 meters the distance flown by the Wright brothers in the world's first manned flight in 1903. The aircraft was powered by 160 AA-size Panasonic Oxyride dry cell batteries. The plane's 160 batteries yielded 800 watts of power at takeoff, which is stronger than the takeoff power of human-powered aircraft that use pedals.
